Window of God

This window is designed to capture the cross theme of the old Bethel windows and their simple but beautiful Victorian style reflecting the simplicity and beauty of God. The large supporting beam which runs through the center of the window is incorporated into the total window design. The central representation of the glass and wood together is a multiple cross symbolism, both horizontal and diagonal. The Cross of Christ, the cross beam, holds the building up and it supports its people. Without the chief cornerstone, the church has no true support. The circle of God represents the body of Christ, the unity of Christ, and the everlasting love of God. The light green light background which makes up much of the color in the design represents eternal life when viewed through the Cross of Christ. This allows us to enter heaven. Jesus said, "I am the door." The six jewels represent humankind's need of salvation. The precious stones have eternal value if they have the light of God passing through them, so they become living stones. The Fleur-de-Lis is the main design transfer from the old Bethel windows.
Christ is the Lily of the Valley. He encircles the entire design. The
Fleurs all point to the center, which is the cross of Christ. |
